Rock Duo Tarah Who? Joins Forces with Yur Mum for an Electrifying New Song and Music Video

Tarah Carpenter and Coralie Hervé make up the intoxicating Los Angeles based rock duo Tarah Who? Consistently pushing the envelope and creating outside the proverbial box, the dynamic female rock band has built an acclaimed catalog of music which sits comfortably on the fringes as the duo has crafted a style that strays from the norms and embraces their unique form of expression and artistry. Simply put.... conformity is out of the question!



Tarah Who? recently paired up with Brazilian, U.K. based rock band Yur Mum, also a duo, consisting of Anelise Kunz and Fabio Couto, on an intensely bold, rebel rousing, rock anthem titled "Push Me", and they have now released the accompanying music video which is brash and scintillating with its captivating visuals and performances.



The idea behind "Push Me" was formulated as Tarah was watching the 2020 GRAMMY Awards and noticed that the rock award categories and performances were excluded from the live TV broadcast and relegated to the pre-ceremony activities amongst hundreds of other categories. This spurred on Tarah to not only want to push the plight of female rock bands to the forefront but all indie rock bands as a whole.



Tarah sums it up, “Our journey is different from the ones who have “made it.” Our definition of success also is on a different level that we cannot compare, but we are not gratified publicly. Our main victory is the fact that we are still doing what we love, we play music that we wrote, and our fans love us for who we are and our originality. If one of us, independent rock band or female-fronted rock band can ever make it to the Grammys, it will for sure, change the music industry.”



The music video for "Push Me" is brilliantly conceived as it subtly pokes fun at the shallowness which tends to permeate award functions and the whole process of even winning them where glitz and image are more important than actual musical substance. The song's messaging is illustrated perfectly in the stirring visuals as scenes flash across portraying an energetic performance by Tarah Who? and Yur Mum against the backdrop of the iconic "HOLLYWOOD" sign in the background. Love the symbolism of that!
