StreamLINE had the pleasure of being able to take in a pre-lease screening of the track and are wowed by Brooke's new project.
"Gimme Gimme" is a lighthearted pop track that touches on a sentimental appeal for romance and love. It captures the essence of pop with its bright and lucid sonics that are wonderfully supported with a wistful lead guitar and ambient chord progression in the backdrop. The drum track is placed gently within the mix to the point that it blends in seamlessly with the rest of the instrumentation, almost sounding like just one grand composition. It gives the song an overall esoteric feel that makes it extremely engaging and attractive.
A round of applause is in order for Brooke as she delivers a mellowly expressive vocal performance. She conveys the theme of the song and lyrical content exceptionally well through her versatile vocal inflections and the refreshingly distinct fashion in which she melodically articulates the lyrics.
