StreamLINE Artist Feature & Interview : YUNG GIO

Hi everybody it's Friday and I hope you're all gearing up for your weekends! Today, we're shining the spotlight on our latest feature artist in the Interview Series.

In this installment, we have the pleasure of bringing you our talk with emerging pop recording artist Yung Gio who is carving a unique niche in the music industry.

Read on to learn more about her music journey, projects and what sparks her creativity. Enjoy!

- Hi Yung Gio, Welcome to StreamLINE! Thank you for taking some time out to speak with us about your artistry and music career. We’re looking forward to our audience learning more about you. Thank you for sharing your story. We appreciate it!

- Please tell us a bit about your background, where you’re from etc.  What were your early music influences?

I first started music in the summer of 2018 where I was featured in a music video shot by Just TV. I never took music that serious, I saw it as just a hobby. I started taking it more seriously at the beginning of 2021. After 7 months of starting, I was booked to do shows performing live in front of people, my last appearance was on August 27, 2021. I grew tremendously in only 7 months, but I still got a lot to learn throughout my career

- What was the defining moment or time in your life when you decided to pursue music on a professional level?

This program I joined called Just TV is a music and video program, where you get to learn how to use a camera, how to write songs, creating your own sound, how to be confident at what you want to do. I chose to do music and they’ve taught me a lot about being a better artist and things I can do to improve, and now I’m already getting on the stage to perform in front of a live audience.

If it wasn’t for Just TV I wouldn’t be where I am today. I also have people who support me everyday, people who encourage not to give up especially since I’ve made this far. There’s no stopping now. This is a good example to show others that what ever dream you want to pursue don’t ever give up and just believe, cause anything is possible.

- How would you characterize your sound and what inspires your creativity? Is it actual life events/experiences or just a vibe that you get?

I’m not sure I can characterize it, but the best way I can put it is depending on how I’m feeling, it’s an actual experience, expressing your feelings towards someone takes a lot of time and energy, but I do it to show this person how I truly feel, their real feelings.

- Please tell us about your single Anything. How did the idea for the song come about? What was the recording process like?

During the pandemic when I was at Just TV, we were actually working from home during a Zoom call. When it was time to split up, I worked with my mentor, we were writing a song and it took me a while to come up with an idea, and then “Anything” came to my mind, I just kept saying “I’ll do anything to be with you, I don’t know what I gotta do, but I know I got a lot prove, put you in a mood I gotta make a move”.

There’s this girl  who I wanted to be with for so long and I was willing to do anything just to be with her. The idea of it was hard to come up with, but I just started saying the phrase before singing it. This took me awhile to record because I did it all from home, the process was long but I put my time and effort to finish it. I did 5 live performances and shot a music video.

- Congratulations in advance on your upcoming single. Please tell us about the concept behind it and if a music video is in the works for it as well.

Thank you so much, my second single is called “voicemail”. The concept of the song is that there’s this girl who I was trying to reach out to, but she didn’t give me any attention so I tried calling her multiple times but she never answered. I was sick of being left on voicemail. I just wanted to express my feelings that I had for her. How I waited for her for almost 2 years giving my time and energy just for her, but I never got the attention that I wanted so I just let her go and moved on.

The director came up the with the idea for the music video of me calling and texting this girl but she still never answered or call back

- What’s the best advice you’ve been given; either personally or professionally?

One of the best advice I was given was to replace “I can’t” with “I’ll try”. Another advice came from my favorite Netflix show “The Flash”. The advice I got was where’s your future? “Right here”...Who’s life is it? “Mine".....What are you going to with it? “Live it”.....so I’m basically creating my future right now.

- What is your most memorable experience or venue as a live performer?  What do you enjoy most about performing live?

The most memorable performance I’ve had was when I first performed live. I thought it would be so bad because I have stage fright. But I had to do it, and in the end everybody seemed to like me, so it wasn’t that bad as when I first got on the stage,. The way to conquer your stage fright is that you have to face it and just go with it.

- Since we’re on the topic of live shows, what is the best concert you have personally ever attended and why?

I’ve actually never been to a concert before. I just like listening to music on my own time. I never get a chance to go to concerts.

- What activities do you enjoy outside of your music endeavors?

I enjoy playing basketball on free time.

- We love to hear what other recording artists are vibing to. What are a few songs that are personally on repeat for you or at the top of the pack in your personal playlist?

The songs I have on my playlist? I’ll just list my top 5.

- "On My Way" by Chika

- "Desiigner" by Chika

- "Gold Medals" by Chika

- "Empire State of Mind" by Jay Z

- "Forever Young" by Jay Z

- What’s next up musically for you as 2022 approaches and beyond? Any projects, features or live shows on the horizon?

After my new single is out, my plan is to promote it, getting it on lyric channels, on blogs basically everywhere. I’ve done performances with this single so everyone is familiar with it

Elly Kace releases 'Nothing I See Means Anything'

NEWS PROVIDED BY: GORYL RECORDS Elly Kace has announced the release of a new album titled 'Nothing I See Means Anything', due out on 19 November 2021. The album will feature 11 tracks. The single promoting the latest album is 'Are You Ready,' which is set in a melancholic mood. All 11 tracks are in a similar vein, so if you are looking for songs that can move you, this album is definitely for you. The artist herself is inspired by stars such as Björk, Kate Bush, and Lady Gaga, which certainly sets the bar high and Elly Kace will have to face many comparisons. Additionally, it can be said that each of these songs writes its own story. We can look forward to seeing which track will be the next single to promote the album. This will probably turn out in the near future. For now, it remains to add the single 'Are You Ready' to your playlists and support the artist. https://soundcloud.com/ellykacemusic/01-are-you-ready-revised-album - www.ellykace.com - www.facebook....

Lielack Drives the Nu-Punk Movement with New Smash Release "Blossom"

Worcester, MA based trio Lielack has surged onto the music scene as a rapidly emerging band since their debut single "Nu4U" last year. Lielack was founded in 2021, rising out of the amicable split of the trio's previous band called Dearbones and is comprised of musical savants Jason Pascucci (Vocals), Andrew Quinn (Guitar), and Jacob Blondin (Drums). Jason, Andrew and Jacob have come together to form an electrifying group that is the forerunners of what they call the Nu-Punk sound. It's a style of music that is characterized by a merge of "radiant pop and punk" and Lielack has displayed the extraordinary elements of the innovative sound on their catalog or releases thus far. Lielack assuredly continues the Nu-Punk surge they created with their new single release "Blossom", which is a high-spirited, dynamic song driven by an enthralling lead guitar that's lively and also gravitates you to the track with its crisp melodic and rhythmic phrasing...
