Groundbreaking Collective Third Development Releases a Seminal New Track

Third Development is the ingenious brainchild of Canadian recording artist Geoffery James. The eclectic collaborative of dynamically talented artists and music professionals worldwide was formed during a period when the early days of the pandemic ravaged the world.

Seeking to provide a ray of light in a period of darkness across the globe, Geoffery went on to compose what would be the collective's first album, a groundbreaking 9-song project called The Thought of Tomorrow. The nine songs on the LP were masterfully created and composed with the theme of projecting hope and optimism.

Geoffery continues this uplifting theme of positivity and looking forward to brighter days with Third Development's new single titled "Echoes", an exceptionally composed song which is a musical masterstroke with its dazzling assortment of mood shifts and fluctuating soundscapes. They all seamlessly come together to form a tour de force of a single release.

For "Echoes", Geoffery enlists Atlanta singer Mila Sadé and UK based rapper Lucid Letters to grace the captivating instrumentation with their dynamic vocal stylings, respectively.

The instrumental literally takes you on a music journey as it enters with a smooth, jazzy, soul-infused vibe driven by an alluring saxophone melody. Mila's silky and lush vocal presentation gravitates you to the track with its vibrant, charming tone. It's a contemporary composition meshed brilliantly with a vintage sound that most closely resembles the soul classics of the 70's. It's like Sade's "Smooth Operator" meets "Isaac Hayes' "Shaft", no pun intended with the Sade reference!

Then in the blink of an eye without a hitch, Lucid Letters enters the scenario and transforms the vibe to hip-hop with her crisp, matter of fact vocal delivery that's understated in its presentation, but her bars loom large with profound lyricism that grab your attention. "Echoes" is an all-around work of art in all aspects from its superior musicianship, the vocal dexterity that Mila and Lucid Letters bring to the table and the keen ear for production and arrangement that will appeal to a wide cross section of music listeners, particularly as it promotes a concept of cultivating optimism.

Time passes by

But I'm in a zone

Another world I'm flying high

I'm flying high

Third Development Bio

Third Development was born out of a burning desire to create art at a time where there was (is) nowhere to go but ‘within’. Lead band member Geoffrey James sat down to compose and perform what became Third Development’s debut album, The Thought of Tomorrow, a blend of 80s infused synth and 90s inspired electronica to create a soundtrack for a life of optimism and hope. It may be a dreamer’s goal but at the very least, the songs set out to provide a few moments of reprieve from the stress and chaos of the outside world, an idyllic state for both the mind, body and soul.

Third Development is not restricted by borders or boundaries—the band’s roster of guest artists is fluid and global to celebrate the connectivity of today’s world.

Third Development has worked with talent such as Grammy-Winning, and 3-time 2020 Grammy-nominated Mastering Engineer Emily Lazar, NYC, Mix Engineer and Producer Sara Fedi, Italy, and vocalist, Kintsuku, U.K., hip hop rap artist Lucid Letters, U.K. and Mila Sade from Atlanta Georgia, U.S.A. The surreal, cosmic-inspired album artwork was designed by artist Eden Redpath from Houston, Texas.

THE MISSION

Third Development’s music is meant to be shared, to travel far and be heard by many.
