Cory M. Coons is a veteran independent performer, musician and award-winning songwriter. The acclaimed musician boasts over 30 years of performing and working in music and his array of contributions have been recognized by music fans and industry professionals alike.



As a Roots-Rock/Americana blend of singer-songwriter, Cory has amassed significant support on the major digital streaming platforms for his melodic brand of roots-flavored rock. His catalog consists of several critically-acclaimed full length albums and EPs, as well as a handful of well-received singles.



In addition, his work with famed legendary record producer Ron Nevison, has earned him industry recognition from the Los Angeles Music Awards, the Producer’s Choice Honors, The Josie Music Awards, International Singer-Songwriter Association and the Radio Music Awards, among others.



Cory has added another spectacular song and composition to his thriving discography with his latest single 'Freedom Road" which was released October 1 via MTS Management Group / MTS Records.

Cory explains the concept behind the song, I feel the song talks about never taking freedom and the simple things in life for granted in these current difficult times we are faced with.



He explains further, It doesn't come without a cost... I think it portrays the fact that there's a lot of built up frustration, anger and confusion in the world right now, and sometimes we must brave the storm on our own, while standing up for our beliefs and speaking our own truth. It's also a little about a loss of innocence, and finding that common ground with the "common man", and asking God for strength and healing from above on our journey of faith on this current path."



The thing that strikes you when you listen to "Freedom Road" is how pensive, reflective and personal it is as you absorb the thought provoking lyrics. Cory does an outstanding job lyrically of writing a song that muses on a variety of relatable topics such as core values, faith, principles and truly appreciating the freedoms we enjoy....also standing up for those freedoms when they're challenged.

One can pick up on a number of gems and words of wisdom as you make your way through this track. The sincerity in Cory's vocal performance goes a long way in masterfully conveying the crux of the song.



I also find it impressive that even though "Freedom Road" contains a number of references to faith and religion, it is not at all a type of song you can regard as "preachy" or "judgmental". Once again, I attribute this to Cory's authentic vocal presentation and adept songwriting which anyone, regardless of faith or belief can learn from and be uplifted.



"Freedom Road" is an incredible single and carries an empowering message which resonates profoundly given the social and economic turmoil that is gripping the world.

Since 2004, Cory has released 4 full-length albums and 2 E.P’s, (with another recent E.P. released in 2020), featuring the singles "Leavin" and "Good Times Gone".



He released "The Long Road Home" in 2018, produced by Multi-Platinum Veteran Music Producer Ron Nevison, (Heart, Bad Company, Damn Yankees, Survivor, Styx, Night Ranger), along with fellow band mate & guitarist/engineer Marc D. Muir. The album was nominated in 2019 for "Male Album Of The Year" at the Josie Music Awards, one of the biggest Independent Award Shows in North America.  He also received 4 nominations at the 2020 JMA's, and 3 more at the 2021 JMA's.



Cory also earned a nomination at the 2021 "International Singer Songwriter Association" (ISSA) Awards in 2021 for "International Male Vocalist of the Year". Two CMC songs have also been selected to appear in the soundtrack of the new Dream Cinema Productions Sci-Fi film "Night Mistress" currently in post- production in Los Angeles.
