Robin Bermann is a multi-instrumentalist, recording artist and producer from Germany. The eclectic producer crafts dynamic instrumentals which he describes as indie/synthwave with a melancholic vibe.

Bermann released a 9-track album earlier this year, Everyone Needs a Cloud, and we're going to dive into a track off the album titled "I Have to Be Ok".

"I Have to Be Ok" is a magnificent composition which incorporates a brilliant mesh of acoustic and electronic elements. It gives the track an unmistakable warmth as it transitions from section to section.

Overall, the track has a pop feel with a front-and-center infusion of rock that's very reminiscent of the sound made popular by the pop and rock hits that dominated the 80's, particularly, the sound design and pattern of the snare drum in the song.

The track has an infectious lead guitar riff that follows in step with the rhythmic bass line and the two of them in conjunctions provides the melodic foundation of the composition.

This base soundscape is then layered by a bevy of ambient synths and instrumentation which inject even more appeal into the song's sonics and tonality.

Bermann's mixture of such melodies and accompanying chords makes for a wonderful listening experience as the aural energy of the song is maintained from beginning to end.

This consistency is definitely attributable to how the shifts and transitions of the song flow seamlessly and are well-placed in the context of the whole song. This demonstrates Bermann's keen ear for arrangement in how he goes about developing his productions.

As you listen to "I Have to Be Ok", a vivid picture is easily painted in your mind; something that jolts your imagination, even independent of the title, and that's something characteristic of top notch instrumental tracks as they have the challenge of conveying a concept musically without words and lyrics.

Bermann meets and exceeds this challenge swiftly. I envision a variety of scenario when I listen to "I Have to Be Ok". I see a couple jamming to this on a long road trip/travel adventure or preparing for a compelling night out on the town. That's just a few of the images that pop into my mind when I hear this song.

It has such a universal appeal musically which is a testament to Bermann's musicianship and production skill set.

"I Have to Be Ok" is a spectacular track that you should definitely familiarize yourself with. It is available on all streaming platforms (Spotify link below). Make sure to stream it! Playlist it! and Save it to your Favorites Library.
