StreamLINE Music Review - Mezmah : "Nairobbery" and "Soul Searching"

StreamLINE Music Review - Mezmah :

Mezmah is a rapper based in the United Kingdom and originally from Nairobi, Kenya.

The versatile recording artist whose style also flows into areas in the R&B space has distinguished himself from the typical rapper with his distinct vocal tone and cadence.

We're going to touch on two of his single releases we had the pleasure of reviewing titled "Nairobbery" and "Soul Searching".

"Nairobbery" is an upbeat, fast paced track that Mezmah describes as sort of a tribute to his birthplace of Nairobi.

The song is driven by a vibrant vocal performance by Mezmah in which he capitalizes on a vocal delivery that commands presence with its unique timbre and expressiveness.

Mezmah displays his lyrical dexterity as he flows along the hard-edged instrumental with precision and a melodic undertone.

"Soul Searching" is a track off of Mezmah's recent album release Better Than Never.

It's an introspective, chill hop track that demonstrates how Mezmah skillfully combines the melodic elements of hip-hop and R&B.

Mezmah melodically flows across the classic hip-hop drums laced with a rhythmic acoustic guitar riff that really gives the track a raw, gritty feel.

The authenticity that Mezmah projects in his vocal delivery is undeniable and drives the appeal of the song, particularly, as he emotively bellows the song's title in the hook.

How to Make Your DJ Sets Pop with Harmonic Mixing Using the Camelot Wheel

The Camelot Wheel is a tremendously helpful tool for DJ's in mixing tracks in key so they blend together harmonically. The wheel was adapted from the "circle of fifths" system and incorporates a numerical value system to make it easier to understand for those for those are not familiar with key signatures or music theory. The number values on the Camelot Wheel represent the key and the letters identify between minor (A) or major scales (B). The way to use it? Whatever key your song is in, you can mix it with a song in the key one position to the left, one position to the right and directly above or below depending if a major or minor key. Major Key Example : Current track you are playing is the key of 1B (B Major). You can mix it with tracks in 12B, 2B and 1A. Example : Ultimate DJ Tools_- Camelot Wheel for Harmonic Mixing in the Key of 1B Minor Key Example : Current track you are playing is the key of 1A (A-Flat Minor).
