Spotlight on 6 Women Executives in the Music Industry

She has also held events like Damon Albarn’s virtual band, Gorillaz, for their Demon Dayz festival in 2017.

She is known as a senior director in A&R for the company Interscope Records. Her career started with her pursuit of becoming a media journalist.

Her peak of exposer is when she recorded the rapper Fabolous, at the Powerhouse 2013, the annual hip-hop concert responding to Kendric Lamar’s lyrics from his song Control.

In her career, she joins groups and attend panels to talent scouting and supervise music development for recording artists.

Her career started as an independent music supervisor. At that time, Spring created Island Def Jam Records’ soundtrack department. She also produced soundtracks for films like 2 Fast 2 Furious, Jackass, and Spider-Man with notable stars like Kanye West and Justin Bieber.

As the president of the music department in Sony Pictures Entertainment, Spring is also responsible for recruiting more big names in the music industry. That is, for the award-winning animated film Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse (2018).

5. Cara Lewis

Former CAA's "hip-hop agent" Cara Lewis helped oversee famous rappers such as Pitbull, Eminem, Chance the Rapper, and Bryson Tiller.

In the beginning, Lewis was a receptionist at Norby Walters' booking agency in Manhattan. Through her hard work, she became promoted to an agent.

As she worked her way up through the industry, people saw her as "cut-throat" or one of the "most feared people in music."

Due to her success, Lewis begins her own company Cara Lewis Group. In her agency, Lewis has made an international booking for more than 800 shows.
